About the role
This role leads technical product readiness and factory execution from mass trial through launch and into current product engineering. You will work with R&D, manufacturing program managers, factories, manufacturing partners, packaging, regulatory and quality teams to make products build-ready, compliant and manufacturable at scale. It suits an experienced engineer who enjoys being the technical bridge between design teams and factory teams.
What you'll do
Drive product completion readiness during new product introduction with R&D, factories and cross-functional teams.
Own product completion specifications, including top-level factory instructions for build, labeling, documentation and rework.
Own manufacturing execution system setup and product labeling readiness at the factory.
Work with regulatory to ensure factory execution and product labeling meet requirements.
Partner with the manufacturing program manager to obtain the latest top-level bill of materials and product authorization matrix, including country of origin and supply chain pipe details.
Work with packaging to ensure the distribution matrix, packaging instructions and related factory documentation are complete.
Define and coordinate rework instructions, corrective actions and containment plans.
Give real-time feedback during development and early factory builds on design for manufacturability, workmanship, MES, labeling and factory execution readiness.
Support validation of manufacturing processes and quality containment actions before start of production.
Act as the technical bridge between R&D and factory teams to improve speed, quality, communication and manufacturing readiness.
Travel to factories to review build readiness, factory execution, quality goals and issue resolution.
In current product engineering, support operations quality, close the loop with R&D on design issues and help resolve product hardware issues.
Support environmental compliance readiness by collecting supplier documents such as supplier declarations of conformity and material declarations.
Review and approve bill of materials components in MS4 for environmental compliance with product stewardship, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Help drive closure of environmental compliance gaps that could impact product release.

Full time schedule with no shift premium.
Travel is about 25%.
No relocation support.
Requirements
Four-year or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience or demonstrated competence
Typically 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience
Product certification preferred
Six Sigma certification preferred
Knowledge of Agile methodology, AWS, Angular, APIs, automation, CI/CD, computer science, DevOps, Java, JavaScript, Kubernetes, machine learning, microservices, Python, React.js, scalability, software development, software development life cycle, software engineering and SQL
