About the role
This role supports a positive experience for patients and internal customers in our clinics, coordinating care between patients and healthcare providers. You will handle administrative duties for smooth clinic operations and perform basic clinical tasks to help deliver healthcare services. The position also involves guiding and supporting junior staff in their daily work.
What you'll do
Prepare counters, waiting areas and facilities so the clinic is ready for patients.
Handle patient registration, screening escalations and appointment management to support timely care and caregiver visits.
Apply infection control and prevention practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Identify hazards and risks to patient safety and take part in quality improvement initiatives.
Provide pre-test instructions over the phone to confirm attendance.
Liaise with patients and manage enquiries from patients and the public using established service standards.
Assist in audits by following hospital policies and providing relevant supporting documents.
Reconcile dropped and cancelled charges for clinic services.
Help develop and review job instructions and improvements, and train junior staff to work correctly, safely and conscientiously.
Perform clinical core, basic and intermediate/advanced tasks, guide junior staff in core and basic tasks, monitor their clinical practice, and maintain records of their competencies.
Prepare rooms, self-screening areas, patients and equipment for examinations, measure basic health parameters, assist in minor procedures, and coach junior staff in these tasks.
Oversee coordination and execution of emergency response tasks assigned to junior staff.
Support patient education by giving post-procedure advice and simple education to patients and caregivers.
Establish practice standards for department clinical procedures under the guidance of the clinical team.
Demonstrate familiarity with emergency planning and take part in evacuation exercises as assigned.
Good to know
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm, and Saturday 8.30am to 1pm, with one Saturday per month on a rotating basis.
This is a 2-year contract role, subject to extension or permanent conversion based on performance.
You should be comfortable working in a hospital setting and in different clinics when needed.
Shift work may be required when needed.
Requirements
At least GCE 'N' Level or above
Preferably 3 years of working experience in healthcare or service industry
Experience in a customer service-oriented environment is an advantage
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and email
Comfortable with new systems and processes
