About the role

A contract role supporting Dietitians in the Nutrition and Dietetic Department of a hospital. You will help with nutritional assessment of patients, share basic food and nutrition information, and support community nutrition activities. It suits someone with a nutrition or food science background who is comfortable in a clinical inpatient setting.

What you'll do

Assist Dietitians with nutritional management of referred patients by gathering patient information for assessment
Communicate accurate basic food and nutrition information
Review less complex patients in the inpatient setting
Take part in nutritional community activities
Help maintain inventory of resources
May rotate to food service to help Dietitians supervise daily patient meal production and service
Ensure meals are correct and of good quality, following nutrition guidelines for patient safety

Good to know

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am–5.10pm, Saturday 8am–12.30pm on alternate Saturdays

Requirements

Diploma in Food Science and Nutrition, or a related Nutrition and Food Science degree
Relevant experience in food and beverage or the service industry is preferred
