Assistant Manager, Signature Restaurant - The Singapore EDITION

What you'll do

• Handle employee questions and concerns
• Monitor staff to make sure performance expectations are met
• Give feedback to employees based on observed service behaviours
• Help supervise daily shift operations
• Supervise the restaurant and related areas when the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager is absent
• Take part in department meetings and share departmental goals clearly
• Make sure employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
• Raise food quality and service level issues with the Chef and Restaurant Manager
• Ensure the restaurant follows all policies, standards and procedures
• Monitor alcohol beverage service in line with local laws
• Manage operations to meet or exceed budgeted goals
• Perform restaurant employee duties and related department tasks when needed
• Open and close restaurant shifts
• Talk with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels
• Supervise staffing levels so guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
• Encourage employees to deliver excellent customer service within guidelines
• Handle guest problems and complaints, seeking supervisor help when necessary
• Work to improve service performance
• Set a positive example for guest relations
• Help review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
• Meet and greet guests
• Supervise ongoing training initiatives
• Use all available on-the-job training tools for employees
• Communicate performance expectations based on each position's job description
• Coach and counsel employees on performance on an ongoing basis
• Share information with supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by phone, in writing, by email or in person
• Analyse information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
• Assist servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high demand times
• Recognise good quality products and presentations
• Supervise daily shift operations when the Restaurant Manager is absent
