About the role

This role provides administrative and operational support to the Dietetics & Catering Services department at the Institute of Mental Health, keeping diet orders, catering requests and food safety documentation running smoothly between wards, kitchen and catering teams. It suits someone service-oriented with a nutrition or food management background who is comfortable working closely with chefs and dietitians in a hospital kitchen setting.

Coordinate diet orders coming from the wards to the kitchen
Maintain and update labels, posters and charts in the kitchen
Coordinate internal catering orders between requestors, the catering team and the Chef in Charge
Support catering events with labels, filing, data entry, billing and dispatch
Handle general administrative work such as filing and data entry
Keep the office manned during office hours and attend to all department calls
Run internal quality checks on food consistency, temperature and quality
Carry out daily food safety and hygiene checks
Help prepare, organise and maintain audit documents
Assist the Chef in ensuring staff follow food safety rules and regulations
Process e-payment requests and related data entry
Work with the Chef and Dietitian on nutrient analysis of menus
Cover for other team members when needed
Take on other duties as assigned

Requirements

Service-oriented, confident and passionate about helping others
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Willing and able to work weekends and public holidays
Diploma or GCE 'A' Levels in foods and nutrition, food management or a related field
At least 2 years of relevant work experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
