About the role

This role is based in the pastry section of a hotel kitchen on Orchard Road, where you will prepare food to the brand's standards for quality, presentation and hygiene. You will support the pastry team across daily production, buffet and function setups, and it suits someone with solid pastry basics who takes initiative and works well with a chef de partie.

What you'll do

Take work orders and instructions from the chef de partie

Guide and show junior staff in pastry production, coffee breaks, buffet setup and function setup

Ensure daily functions and seminar coffee breaks are ready half an hour before the function time

Make sure all stored items are dated and labelled

Check café buffet setups daily for breakfast, hi-tea, lunch and dinner, including name tags and clean standard decoration on cakes

Follow all production recipes and methods correctly

Prepare room service amenities

Check a la carte stock for availability, freshness, dates and labelling

Work closely with the pastry chef on the 39-point checklist

Check goods delivered by outside suppliers and confirm they are acceptable (quality control)

Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time

At least 4 years of working experience is an advantage
Basic pastry skill
Manage and maintain sanitation and hygiene standards
