About the role

This is a senior leadership role heading the catering sales department at a luxury hotel in Marina Bay. You will drive both reactive and proactive catering sales, working closely with event management and hotel operations to deliver events the property can execute well. It suits an experienced sales leader from a large luxury hotel background who is commercially sharp, hands-on with their team, and committed to high service standards.

What you'll do

Lead the hotel's catering sales efforts across local and group/convention business
Solicit and book local catering business and grow group business
Develop and manage catering sales revenue and operation budgets, and produce forecasting reports
Work with the management team to create and roll out a catering sales and marketing plan covering revenue, customers and market
Develop menus that drive sales
Support the selling, implementation and follow-through of catering promotions
Execute the brand's customer service and hotel brand standards
Handle operational aspects of booked business such as proposals, contracts and customer correspondence
Coordinate and deploy on-property catering sales resources, and build close working ties with operations
Ensure a smooth handover from sales to operations and back to sales
Monitor and resolve guest issues arising from the sales process, channelling them to property leadership or relevant stakeholders
Manage and direct on-property catering sales managers to hit revenue goals by targeting high-value accounts and implementing deployment strategies
Partner with HR on attracting, developing and retaining talent, performance management, goal setting and talent acquisition
Interact with guests, clients, sales and kitchen teams, vendors, competitors, the local community and catering associations to monitor guest satisfaction
Serve customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable features and services
Build understanding of the hotel's target customer and their business needs to offer better solutions before and during events
Partner with Area Sales stakeholders to receive warm leads for deeper qualification
Partner with Event Management and hotel operations to sell products and services the hotel can deliver
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Requirements

Extensive MICE and catering sales experience in a large-scale luxury hotel, ideally 400 rooms or more
Proven ability to drive revenue, optimise business opportunities, manage key accounts and meet financial targets
Hands-on leadership style that sets clear expectations, delegates well and empowers the team
Collaborative team player who builds trust and cross-functional cooperation
Strong analytical and reporting skills in forecasting, budgeting and business analysis
Creative and innovative thinker able to develop new business opportunities
