Supervise and coordinate the work of cooks and kitchen staff
Decide how food is presented and create decorative food displays
Ensure correct portioning, arrangement and garnishing of dishes
Keep track of how much food is prepared
Tell food and beverage service staff about menu specials and items that are out of stock
Prepare special meals or substitute items
Help cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
Provide cooks with the items they need
Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and food
Maintain kitchen logs for the food safety programme and food products
Check food quality and inform the manager if a product does not meet standards
Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees
