About the role

This role sits with the sales team at Maxwell Reserve Singapore Autograph Collection, a hotel on Cook Street. You will handle group room enquiries and corporate accounts, working closely with other departments to convert business and keep guests happy. It suits someone with several years of hotel sales experience who is comfortable juggling site inspections, account planning and daily outreach.

What you'll do

Manage group room enquiries of 10 or more rooms or people from first request through contracting and payment
Coordinate with in-house departments to execute and convert group business smoothly
Own group blocks, including pickup numbers, reservation methods, billing and VIP treatment
Run site inspections: organise visits, allocate rooms, inspect rooms and coordinate departments for a polished showcase
Communicate clearly and professionally in speech and writing, including telephone etiquette
Build and maintain positive working relationships and respond to colleagues' concerns
Meet individual sales targets and contribute to the department's overall sales budget
Make five sales calls daily and three sales activities such as entertainment and site inspections weekly
Identify and develop new accounts, prospecting at least two new accounts per week
Create sales plans to generate business from identified markets and accounts
Assess corporate account needs and start sales activities for assigned markets to enable future bookings
Keep customers informed about hotel benefits and ongoing promotions
Manage and grow corporate accounts by tracking transient, group and catering production goals
Negotiate transient rates for assigned accounts
Prospect new business through phone solicitation, sales calls, site inspections, trade shows, sales blitz, email and research
Gather market intelligence on competitors, new product ideas and customer trends
Ensure prompt follow-up on calls, site inspections and proposals, with accurate booking and documentation
Motivate peers and support department goals while managing interdepartmental relations and team building
Uphold personal standards such as grooming, ownership, accountability, visibility and punctuality
Carry out other duties assigned by the owner or management as business needs change

Requirements

At least 5 years of working experience in the position
Experience or knowledge of Opera PMS/Cloud is essential
Highly developed organizational skills
Possess initiative and pro-activeness
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
