Patient service associate resume tips for Singapore
Languages and dialects are a real strength
Many patients in Singapore are more comfortable in Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or a dialect. List every language you can hold a conversation in, and how well.
Put BCLS + AED near the top if you have it
Many clinics and hospitals ask for it or will send you for it. If yours is current, say so. If it has lapsed, renewing it before you apply helps.
Say which shifts you can work
Clinics open early, hospitals run late, and weekends are common. A clear availability line saves the employer a question.
Customer service experience counts
Retail, F&B and call centre work all build the same skills: patience, accuracy at the counter, handling upset people. Describe them in those words.
Show you can keep things private
Patient information is sensitive. A line about handling records carefully, or about PDPA training if you had it, tells the employer you understand this.
Leave salary off
Your resume does not need your current or expected salary. Answer only where the form asks.
Common mistakes
- Leaving out languages because they seem unimportant. In healthcare they are often what gets you hired.
- Not saying whether you can work weekends or shifts.
- Listing BCLS without saying whether it is still current.
