Sales executive resume tips for Singapore
Lead with targets
Sales managers look for one thing first: did you hit your numbers? Give your target achievement for the last year or two, as a percentage if you can.
Say who you sold to
B2B or B2C, small shops or large companies, walk-in or field sales. This helps the employer see if your experience fits their customers.
Show how you win and keep customers
New accounts opened, renewals, referrals. One example of a customer you kept through a problem is very persuasive.
Licences that matter
Some sales roles need licences, such as the CMFAS modules for insurance and financial products or CEA registration to sell property. A driving licence also helps for field sales.
Languages help close deals
Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or dialects can matter a lot with some customers in Singapore. List what you speak.
No salary or commission on the resume
Leave your basic salary and commission out. Discuss it when the employer asks.
Common mistakes
- No numbers at all in a sales resume.
- Claiming results you cannot explain in the interview.
- Not saying what you sold or to whom.
