Profile
Business analyst with four years in insurance and e-commerce. I sit between the business and the tech team, write requirements both sides understand, and test until the result matches what was asked for. Strong in SQL and Power BI, and used to Agile teams.
Experience
Business Analyst
Jun 2023 – Present
A regional insurer in Raffles Place
- Gathered requirements from claims and finance teams for a new claims-tracking workflow, written as user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Planned and ran user acceptance testing for three releases, logging and tracking about 120 defects to closure.
- Mapped the claims approval process and removed two manual hand-offs, shortening the usual turnaround by around two working days.
- Built Power BI reports that replaced five separate monthly spreadsheets.
Data Analyst
Jul 2021 – May 2023
An e-commerce company in Paya Lebar
- Wrote SQL queries for weekly sales and returns reporting used by category managers.

Business analyst resume tips for Singapore
Show the before and after
A business analyst is hired for results: a faster process, fewer errors, a report people now use. For each role, give at least one outcome, even if it is described in words rather than numbers.
Make your industry clear
Banking, insurance, healthcare and government projects each have their own language and rules. If you know one well, say so in your headline.
List tools that match the ad
SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Jira and Excel come up often in Singapore BA roles. Put the ones you are strong in first.
Mention how your team worked
Agile, Scrum or waterfall: employers want to know you will fit their way of working. A line in your summary is enough.
Certificates are a bonus, not a must
Scrum or business analysis certificates can help, especially if you are switching into the role, but real project work counts for more.
No salary on the resume
Leave current and expected salary out. Share it when the employer asks.
Common mistakes
- A list of tools with no example of what you built or changed with them.
- Writing for other analysts. The first reader may be HR, so keep it plain.
- Hiding the business outcome under technical detail.
