About the role
You will join an inpatient dialysis centre as a Senior or Staff Nurse, caring for patients who need haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration or peritoneal dialysis. The role suits a registered nurse who is comfortable assessing patients with different vascular access and working closely with physicians on treatment plans. You will also support patients and their caregivers in managing dialysis safely.
What you'll do
Assess patients and identify their care needs, including those with different vascular access on HD or HDF.
Carry out HD, HDF and PD according to treatment plans, managing safety and complications.
Review blood results and clinical parameters, and work with physicians to adjust dialysis regimens and medications as prescribed.
Perform quality assurance checks on dialysis water and dialysis fluid in line with hospital policy and MOH guidelines.
Educate HD and HDF patients on vascular access care, dietary and fluid restrictions, and provide counselling when needed.
Conduct nursing assessments of patients' suitability for PD.
Train patients and caregivers in PD and assess their competency so they can perform PD independently at home.
