The Office for Research at the National Institute of Education is hiring a Research Associate for a 12-month renewable contract on the AI4SoL project, which studies the use of large language models to support mathematics word problem solving through dialogue. You will lead the design and refinement of primary mathematics learning materials, assessments and research instruments. You will conduct literature reviews, manage quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and coordinate on-site data collection in schools. You will also maintain project documentation and draft research updates or technical reports, and support other research-related duties assigned by the Principal Investigators.
Requirements
Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Learning Sciences, Mathematics Education or a related field
Prior experience teaching Primary Mathematics, preferably in a local school context
Proficiency in research and data analysis tools such as SPSS, R, NVivo or Excel
Strong project coordination, organisational and written/verbal communication skills
